Emma Jayne Dujardin Showing Clinic

Posted by

Have you ever thought “ why do I do this?”.

Ungrateful children, spoilt obnoxious ponies and an empty bank account.............But then you have the ride of your life ( Even if it was only 5 strides ) and you remember why you fell in love with your four legged friend in the first place.

This was the case for many of us at our First Showing clinic with the one and only top showing producer Ms Emma Jayne Dujarduin.

The clinic was the brain child of Jo ( Equi-kids director ) who was at the time looking for some expert advice for the talented yet mischievous ginger pony Sweetie and HRH Jemima who has 2 grooms 'don't you know'

After failing miserably trying to find exactly what we were looking for locally we decided that we wouldn't be the only ones looking for this and therefore the only option was to hold our very own Equi-Kids showing clinic.

Emma Jayne Durjardin arrived at 9.00am ahead of a full days teaching. To kick us off we had the First Ridden’s - from cheeky Sec A’s to experienced show ponies. Regardless of age, experience or ability they all got an amazing amount out of their session. There were lots of proud Mum moments too!!

The morning wasn't all plain sailing with one pony pulling up lame in the first 5 minutes. Luckily Equi-Kids trusty mascote Polly came to rescue. Dragged in from the field and ready within 5 minutes to continue the lesson. Allisha and Polly enjoyed demonstrating their favourite game of chase at the end which all who witnessed found very amusing!

Coffee time !! The kids all disappeared back to the field with Polly ….. obviously bareback and never returned. They were later found on the trampoline in the garden having “ The best time!! ” Some were found in Sweetie's hay bar and others in the surrounding trees ! (Yes they were all in their best riding clothing)

The afternoon saw the “Big Boys + Girls” from Sport horses to fancy pants Figgy the Dressage superstar and not forgetting Moon the Friesian x Welsh. Emma Jayne was very helpful clearing up any confusion on which class was suitable for their horse, how to improve your display and general way of going. She then took the time to explain the correct attire for the horse and rider combination including pulling a few tails along the way…. No horses were harmed in the making of the tails.

The day eventually came to an end with tired dirty worn out kids, ponies with freshly pulled tails and mums all chatted out and of course a worn out Emma Jayne.

Equi-kids is the one stop shop for kids and ponies - We provide the latest equestrian clothing and styles at affordable prices, training clinics for all disciplines and expert style advise.
